Chassis Plans Releases Drive Intensive 8 Terabyte 3U Enclosure

Twelve Hotswap SATA, IDE or SCSI Drives in 3U Allow 8+ Terabytes
of On-line Data Storage in Front of an EATX Full Size Server Board

San Diego, Calif. - July 17, 2006- Chassis Plans, The Original Industrial Computer Source®, today released the D5Chassis Series high performance 3U Server Chassis.

Designed to satisfy a wide range of military, industrial, commercial, and broadcast requirements, the D5Chassis provides twelve hot swap SATA, IDE or SCSI drive carriers allowing up to 8+ Terabytes on on-line data storage using current drive technology. This is extremely high data density for a 3U enclosure system. In addition to the massive storage capability, the D5Chassis provides a slim CD/DVD and floppy drives plus two internal hard drives for the operating system.

Behind the drive area is room and cooling for a full size EATX 12x13-inch server class motherboard. Chassis Plans offers systems with dual Xeon, dual duo-Xeon and quad Opteron systems for unsurpassed performance in a processor and data intensive environment. Power supply options include redundant N+1 and DC operation for fail-safe operation. Cooling is provided by four hot swap fans.

The D5Chassisis constructed of heavy gage steel for ruggedness and reliability. Custom front panels, paint and customer logo application are available.

A front door provides protection for the drives and an improved appearance. Custom doors, in conjunction with custom paint and customer logo, can be supplied to give the system a unique appearance to enhance a customer's image and brand. Other modifications are available per customer requirement.
