The CCX-17 and CCX-19 offer military grade features and deliver rugged performance, day in and day out. These 1U rack mounted clamshell LCD keyboard drawers offer revision controlled enterprise grade 17” and 19” TFT displays with LED backlights.

 

The CCX family is designed to meet Mil-Standard 901D and has passed rigorous MIL-STD-810G testing. Each unit includes a solid, milled aluminum front panel, lightweight 5052-H32 aluminum construction, and locking stainless hardware throughout.

 

Electrical components are top quality, ultra-reliable, and are mounted to ensure consistent operation. Drawers are held closed by two captive thumbscrews, and lock out friction slides are included. Friction slides become critical when the CCX family of rack-mounted displays are used in vehicular applications, as the drawers stay where positioned even during a bumpy ride. Friction slides are also much less prone to jamming due to dust or dirt intrusion as compared to ball bearing slides.

 

The CCX 17” and 19” rack mount displays are ideal for mounting in a transit case. This configuration is at home in those severe situations that would destroy a lesser display. Offering a folding front handle minimizes protrusions into the workspace and protects the operator. A rear mounted cable management arm is provided to enhance the look and functionality of the rack mount system.

 

Installed depth is only 22” without the cable management arm and 24.4” with the arm.

 

The 17” and 19” displays are high performance, long life TFT LCD’s offering a maximum native resolution of 1280x1024. The displays offer optional optically bonded 3mm Dura Block 90 anti reflective overlay glass. In addition, an optional laminated 1.1mm soda lime glass with an ITO conductive EMI filter and an additional 1.1mm soda lime glass overlay with Dura Block 90 anti-reflective (AR) coating. Both glass components are optically bonded to each other, and to the front of the display, for superior viewing clarity and overall ruggedness. A 3mm copper bus bar surrounds the entire glass stack-up and provides consistent grounding. A contrast ratio of approximately 1300:1 is delivered with this ITO/Anti Reflective glass stack-up.

 

Dura Block 90 is a two surface treatment. The front surface is an oleophobic anti reflective coating resistent to fingerprints. The inner surface is treated with an infrared resistent coating to reduce heat loading on the LCD display from exposure to sunlight.

 

Users may select from a choice of two sealed keyboard designs, providing either a Touchpad or Hula Point pointing device. Both keyboards are NEMA-4 rated, sealed silicone rubber constructed, and offer tactile feedback and full travel for comfortable typing. Carbon on gold contacts assure reliable operation over the life of the units – with each keyboard possessing a rating of 10 million lifecycles per switch. The backlit touchpad keyboard design offers 97 keys with two mouse buttons, while the Hula Pointer version offers 113 keys with three mouse buttons. Both PS/2 and USB outputs are standard on the Hula Point version while the touchpad version is available with a USB output.

 

These rugged keyboards are completely sealed and meet IP-65 standards to prevent liquid ingress. These keyboards can be simply wiped down with a wet rag to clean any spills.

Video inputs of analog VGA, DVI-D or DVI-I, NTSC/PAL/SECAM, Composite, S-Video and Component (YCbCr) are available on selected models depending on the installed controller.

LCD Controller Options
Rackmount LCD Controller TableTwo military grade LCD controllers are available which provide a full array of input options. These controllers are conformal coated for durability- offering extended operating temperature ranges of -30 to +80 degrees Celsius. All controllers are built on Genesis chipset foundations – which provide state of the art display graphics and stability. These controllers are road mapped for long-term availability and are applicable for use in multi-year programs where consistency and reliability are of paramount importance..

 

  • Standard - DVI-D and aRGB VGA inputs. Up scaling to fit image resolution to panel native resolution. Sync on Green. RS-232 Serial Protocol for panel control.

  • Advanced - DVI-D, aRGB VGA, HDMI, Video (NTSC/PAL,SECAM, Composite Video, Component Video YCbCr), 3G HD-SDI. Up/down scaling to fit image resolution to panel native resolution. Picture-In-Picture and Picture-By-Picture. Freeze and zoom. Variable aspect. Wide screen mode detection. Sync on Green. RS-232 and Ethernet command protocols for panel control. Text overlay. Power Options
The basic display operates from 12VDC. An EMI filter is included inside the keyboard assembly.


The standard option is a 110/220VAC 50/60Hz supply. Options are available for a 12VDC transient filter to allow reliable operation from vehicular 12VDC systems, MIL-STD 704/1275 28VDC supply, and a 48VDC supply.

Included with each supply is a rack mount bracket allowing secure mounting of the supplies in any standard rack.

 

Power Alternative

Chassis Plans’ 2U-5U rackmount computer systems are designed with a removable back plate that allows a 12V power cord to run from the computer’s power supply to a display or keyboard video monitor. This optional feature, the Exterior Power Jack, is available for this monitor.


By running the display with the computer systems’ power supply, this Exterior Power Jack option can provide many benefits:


• Reduction in the number of required cables
• Elimination of additional equipment, i.e., a power brick
• Reduction in total system weight and cost

KVM Options
CCX models are available with DVI or analog VGA inputs, with USB and PS/2 keyboard and mouse connections, as well as 4-port or 8-port KVM switches. KVMs are mounted separately from the keyboard assemblies to facilitate more options for mounting and to minimize overall installed depth.

 

As with all Chassis Plans products, a wide variety of customizable options are available including paint color, customer logo stamping, extreme duty modifications, and keyboard options.
