UATX-3420 Micro-ATX Long Life Industrial Motherboard
DESCRIPTION

The UATX-3420 is a long-life uATX (micro ATX) motherboard measuring only 9.6 x 9.6-inches and supporting Intel Quad-Core Xeon Series C5500 processors using the Nehalem micro-architecture. The UATX-3420 is ideal for applications where high performance is required in a smaller power efficient design.
Embedded core speeds of 1.73GHz to 2.53GHz (higher when released) are supported with optional support for dual-core processors and other processor speeds. The Intel 3420 Platform Controller Hub saves system power by replacing the typical multi-component chipset with one component and delivers chipset performance and functionality well suited for challenging embedded computing applications. Each processor supports three dual channel DDR3 Mini-DIMMS, PC3-8500 or PC3-10600, system memory connections for up to192GB of memory. The UATX-3420 was designed specifically for high performance embedded applications where high memory bandwidth and assured long term availability is required in a compact sized motherboard.

Chassis Plans' UATX-3420 packs the enhanced capabilities of two quad-core CPUs in a small 9.6 x 9.6-inch uATX long life motherboard. The two two Jasper Forest CPUs use the Nehalem micro-architecture with DDR3 integrated memory controllers and build-in PCIe links. This architecture saves power via improved component thermal designs. The board also provides double CPU processing capabilities with the quad-core micro-architecture and Intel Hyper-Threading (EC5549) as well as enhanced system flexibility with Intel VT-x2 and VT-d2.

The UATX-3420 combines the benefits of quad-core processing with dual-processor capabilities (up to 8 cores), ideal for embedded OEM’s requiring high-performance power-efficient platforms with greater data throughput to perform diverse tasks simultaneously.

Video is provided via an XGI Volari Z11M Graphics Processing Unit with 8MB of video memory that supports screen resolutions of up to 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) with a 64-bit color depth. Output is via a DVI-I connector supporting both digital and analog video outputs. The GPU is driven by a x1 PCIe link from the Intel 3420 PCH.

The UATX-3420 features one PCI Express x16 and two x8 channels in x16 connectors as well as a 32-bit 33MHz PCI slot.

The UATX-3420 Industrial Motherboard supports six (6) Serial ATA connectors (300MB/s) for high-speed hard disk drives and supports RAID 0/1/5/10, six (6) USB 2.0 ports, two (2) 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports, audio and DVI-I video ports

Standard features include two (2) RS232 serial ports, one (1) PS/2 mouse/keyboard connector, and TPM 1.2 support.
