The D5 Series chassis is a high performance design in a low cost 3U rackmount enclosure. The D5 Series is a solid, robust design which will meet the most rigorous and demanding requirements. This chassis is complex in design and is ideal for data and processing intensive applications.

The enclosure is constructed of 18 gauge steel, clear zinc plated for corrosion protection and an attractive appearance. The front panel is attractively detailed and is of heavier gauge than the chassis.

There is a huge amount of drive storage with the provided twelve hot swap drive carriers. Up to 9 Terabytes of drive storage can be accommodated. Models for IDE, SATA and SCSI drives are available. Also provided are drive bays for a slim CD/DVD and slim floppy drive. Two internal 2-1/2" drives can be mounted for operating system support.

A full width door covers and protects the drives and controls. Accessible behind the door is the power and reset switches. The drive and alarm LED's are viewable through the door.

Cooling is provided by four 51CFM hot swap fans mounted mid-chassis plus one 23CFM exhaust fan. There is a full width air filter mounted on the door. Also provided is a thermal alarm system to monitor internal chassis temperature and fan operation. Other fan options are available

The D5 Chassis provides for mounting a standard EATX motherboard up to 12 x 13 inches. Seven plug-in cards can be installed.

Power is provided by a rear mounted 2U or 3U style power supply. Several power options are available including DC operation and redundant operation.
