Chassis Plans PCI Express Expansion Systems provide a
simple, cost-effective solution for expanding the capability of
your PCI Express based computer. Models provide either PCI-X or PCI-E expansion, up to 6 available PCI-X or 7 PCI-E slots. The Host Interface is a low profile PCI-E card.
The PCI-X models will accept PCI-X, 3.3V and Universal PCI cards. Up to 512MB/Sec bandwidth. As computer manufacturers
migrate to PCI Express, the number of available PCI slots
has been reduced or completely eliminated.However, many
companies have invested a substantial amount of capital on
solutions built around conventional PCI and PCI-X hardware.
The Chassis Plans expansion systems provide a migration path to
PCI Express while protecting
your PCI hardware investment.
Models are available for PCI-E expansion up to 7 slots, either x4 or x8 bandwidth. The PCI-E expansion systems allow quick and easy expansion for the limited number of PCI-E slots available on motherboards.
For both PCI-X and PCI-E systems, simply plug the host card into an available x8 slot in your computer and the operating system recognizes the system and installed cards, just as though they were installed in the computer instead of a separate chassis.
An optional drive cage with a cooling fan installed is available to mount up to four 3-1/2" drives in the expansion chassis.
A 3 meter cable is provided to connect to your host computer. Optional 7 meter lengths are available. |
